Aeion Appointments + Video Conferencing
Book a virtual appointment and a real Google Meet link is generated on the spot — for any resource connected to Google Calendar. Already have a Zoom, Teams, or Collab link? Aeion rides it straight into the calendar event so the join URL travels with the booking, the reminders, and the cross-module record. This page is candid about what's live today versus what's schema-ready on the roadmap.
What Connects
`
Google Meet — auto-generated on booking (live)
- Real links, from Google Calendar. Because the Meet link is created as part of the Google Calendar event insert, auto-generation requires the appointment's resource to have a connected Google Calendar (see the Calendar Sync integration). No separate conferencing account is needed.
Zoom, Teams & Collab — bring your link (live)
- Existing links ride the calendar event. When an appointment already carries a
meetingLink, the calendar sync attaches it: on Google the URL becomes the event'slocationand a video entry point; on Microsoft it's set as the event location withisOnlineMeetingon. That's true regardless of provider — a Zoom, Teams, or Collab URL all travel the same way.
What it does NOT do
- No native Zoom meeting creation. Aeion does not call the Zoom API to mint a meeting on booking. Provide a Zoom link and Aeion carries it faithfully; expect auto-creation as a future addition, not current behavior.
FAQ
Google Meet. When a booking uses the `google_meet` provider and has no link yet, Aeion asks Google Calendar to create a real Meet conference on event insert and stores the returned URL on the appointment. For Zoom, Teams, and Collab, Aeion carries a link you supply rather than minting one.
No separate conferencing credential — it works through the resource's connected Google Calendar. If the resource has no Google Calendar connected, no Meet link is auto-generated.
Yes. Put your Zoom link on the appointment (or the booking flow) and Aeion attaches it to the calendar event and carries it into reminders and cross-module records. Native Zoom link creation on booking is on the roadmap.
It's stored on the booking, wrapped into the calendar event as a video entry point, and passed to reminders as the appointment's location, so confirmation and reminder messages carry the join link.
No. An existing link always wins — Aeion wraps it as the event's video entry point instead of generating a new conference.
Every virtual booking, with a link that just works.
Auto-generated Google Meet links today, existing Zoom and Teams links carried end-to-end, and native minting for the rest on the roadmap.
