Aeion Commerce for Omnichannel Retail
Online + in-store + mobile commerce on one inventory ledger, one customer record, one order history. Aeion's Bridge integration runs POS hardware (receipt printers, cash drawers, card readers, barcode scanners, customer displays, label printers); each physical location maps to your online storefront configuration; Square or Stripe Terminal handles card-present payments. No separate POS subscription — same platform, online and in-person.
The Omnichannel Promise
Customers don't shop in channels — they shop the brand. Modern retail expectations:
What Aeion Ships for Omnichannel
`
Inventory — Per-Location Stock Tracking
Every inventory record tracks a product at a specific location — total quantity on hand, quantity reserved for in-flight orders, quantity available (on hand minus reserved), a reorder point that triggers the AI reorder forecast, an ideal reorder quantity, and the timestamp of the last physical count.
POS Terminal Setup via Bridge
A standard omnichannel retail POS station with Aeion:
Buy-Online-Pickup-In-Store (BOPIS) Flow — What You'd Build
Aeion doesn't ship a dedicated BOPIS flow today. Here's the shape one would take, built on real Aeion primitives (order + inventory reservation) plus custom pieces you'd add:
Cross-Channel Loyalty + CRM
The same customer is the same customer regardless of channel.
FAQ
Any USB / Bluetooth hardware that ESC/POS receipt printers, mag-stripe / chip card readers (most major brands), barcode scanners, customer displays, label printers. See Bridge integration in architecture for the technical specs.
Both. Square if you want one vendor for hardware + processing + POS hardware. Stripe Terminal if you want Stripe-everywhere (online + in-person same dashboard). Aeion's adapter works with both.
Inventory is tracked per-product-per-location, with real-time updates across all locations. Admin can transfer stock between locations.
There's no dedicated "return at a different location than purchase" workflow built in today — refunds route back to the original payment method (real, generic refund mechanic), but crediting inventory back to a specific return location versus the original sale location isn't automatic; that mapping would need custom logic.
Use Aeion Dining module alongside commerce. Dining adds kitchen display, course timing, table management, menu modifiers. Commerce handles the order; Dining handles the kitchen flow.
Yes — all channels are views into the same Aeion backend. Web order shows on mobile app instantly; in-store purchase shows on web account page. One source of truth.
The same real POS/Bridge hardware stack (browser-based full-screen UI, receipt printer, card reader, barcode scanner) can run a self-checkout station. There's no dedicated "kiosk" user role with a purpose-built limited-permission set — you'd configure a restricted staff/service account for this today.
