Aeion BI for Embedded Customer-Facing Analytics
SaaS products increasingly need to show analytics to their customers — "your store's performance," "your campaign ROI," "your team's productivity." Off-the-shelf embedded analytics (Looker Embed $50K-300K/year, Tableau Embedded similar, Sisense $50-200K, Domo $50-300K) charge per-end-customer-seat licensing that scales linearly with your customer count — a tax that breaks unit economics for high-volume SaaS. Aeion BI lets you mark any report public and embed it into your product as a lightweight iframe — no per-seat license, no separate embedded-analytics vendor. Reports live inside your Aeion workspace with the same per-tenant data isolation and RBAC as everything else, and export to CSV/PDF/Excel — at the platform-tier price you already pay.

FAQ
Per-Aeion tenant_id WHERE clause auto-applied. Per-RBAC predicate enforced. Cross-tenant leakage impossible by construction — this applies to everything inside your Aeion workspace. Note that a report you mark "public" for embedding is, by design, viewable by anyone with the embed URL, since that's what makes it embeddable without a login.
It isn't yet. Today's embed is per-report, not per-viewer — a public report shows the same data to everyone who loads its URL. There's no signed-link or JWT-based per-customer scoping mechanism today, so showing different data to different embed viewers means publishing a separate report per customer/scope.
Aeion supports per-tenant SAML/OIDC SSO for logging into your own Aeion workspace. That's separate from the embedded report itself, which requires no login at all.
iframe only — there's no `<aeion-bi-dashboard>`-style web component today.
Yes, inside your Aeion workspace — a drag-drop dashboard/report composer for your own team. It isn't exposed as a builder your end customers can use themselves inside the embed.
Standard platform-wide API rate limits apply; there's no BI-specific per-customer export quota or watermarking today.
Not available today — the embedded report renders as Aeion BI's own plain HTML table, with a "Powered by Aeion BI" footer link. No per-tenant logo, color, font, or dark/light-mode customization yet.
The embedded report's HTML table and the Aeion BI admin dashboards are responsive layouts.
Not available today — PDF/CSV/Excel exports use Aeion BI's standard templates, with no per-tenant cover page, footer, or logo customization.
Standard per-tenant connection pooling. There's no dedicated read-replica tier today.
Looker: $50-300K/year + per-end-customer-seat. Aeion: platform tier flat, no per-seat fee for viewing a public embedded report. Savings scale with customer count — weigh that against the current feature gap (no per-viewer scoping, theming, or white-labeling) versus a purpose-built embedded-analytics product.
