Aeion Cut for Broadcast

Broadcast operations — TV news, sports production, live shows, network distribution — require live ingest from multiple sources, real-time switching, instant replay, lower-thirds + graphics insertion, broadcast-grade delivery specs (CEA-608/708 captions, -24 LKFS audio, ATSC A/85, BT.709/BT.2020 color spaces), multi-channel distribution. Aeion's live ingest server, real-time compositor, advanced multicam engine, and professional export pipeline — plus per-region delivery specs — handle the broadcast pipeline. Replaces stack of Vizrt + Avid + EVS + Telestream.

FAQ

Vizrt is the broadcast graphics standard (dynamic lower-thirds, scoreboards, virtual sets). Aeion's live compositor handles basic graphics; for complex broadcast graphics (virtual studios, 3D motion graphics), pair with Vizrt via NDI input.

Avid Interplay is the asset-management standard at networks. Aeion's media library + production module covers similar function; less mature for legacy Avid-shop workflows.

EVS is the dominant instant-replay system in pro sports. Aeion's replay capture offers similar functionality at lower scale; for top-tier pro sports broadcasting, EVS still dominant; Aeion competitive for college/high-school + niche professional.

Telestream + Tedial handle MAM (media asset management) at scale. Aeion's media library + Singularity ingest is a competitive alternative for medium-scale broadcasters; not yet at Telestream's depth for enterprise broadcasters.

Aeion supports live captions via real-time speech-to-text. For the caption accuracy broadcast/FCC compliance typically demands, pair with a human captioner service via NDI input.

Not currently supported — Aeion's encoder doesn't insert SCTE-35 markers. If your workflow needs ad-break signaling, that has to happen downstream (ad server or a dedicated SCTE-35 injector) outside Aeion.

Not currently supported. Aeion's live ingest speaks SDI, NDI, RTMP, RTSP, SRT, and WebRTC — for a 2110 studio, the common pattern is a 2110-to-NDI gateway feeding Aeion over NDI rather than native 2110 ingest.

Aeion's resilience: multiple redundant encoders; fallback streams; automatic failover. Plus full broadcast archive for catch-up.

Aeion's audio processing measures + targets loudness. Per-broadcast-spec target loudness configured; auto-leveling applied; QC report generated.

Per-region captioning regulations supported. CEA-608/708 (US), EBU-STL (UK), iTT (Apple) all supported.

Broadcast-grade. Multi-source live. Per-region specs.
