Aeion Finance for SaaS

SaaS finance is its own discipline — MRR/ARR tracking, ASC 606 deferred revenue waterfall, net dollar retention (NDR), gross retention by cohort, expansion vs new-logo revenue split, churn analysis by segment. Aeion doesn't ship a pre-built SaaS-metrics dashboard, but because Stripe revenue + CRM customer + commerce subscription + finance ledger data all live in one database, you can build these metrics as queries/reports without the "MRR doesn't match Stripe doesn't match QuickBooks" reconciliation hell of a multi-tool stack.

Investor Update Automation

Most SaaS founders send a monthly investor update. Aeion doesn't ship a fully automated monthly-update generator today — this is the shape of a Blueprint workflow you'd build on top of the AI CFO advisor + CRM investor contacts:

FAQ

Aeion doesn't ship a pre-built MRR/ARR/NDR/GRR/cohort dashboard — it ships the deferred-revenue schedule and same-database access to Stripe + CRM + commerce data, which is what those tools would otherwise have to reconcile across separate systems. If you want the dashboards without building your own reports, a metrics tool like ChartMogul reading from Aeion's data is still a reasonable option today.

These are queries against ARR + sales + marketing spend; the underlying data lives in one DB, but Aeion doesn't ship a built-in calculator for them today.

Stripe handles the FX conversion at charge time; Aeion's accounts support per-account currency so you can record in base + foreign currency. Computing NDR/MRR in base currency consistently is a query you build, not an automatic default.

Aeion's deferred-revenue schedule (contract value, term, recognition cadence, recognized/remaining balances) is the data model an auditor reviews for ASC 606/IFRS 15 sign-off. The monthly recognition posting itself is a journal entry you trigger, not an automatic cron.

Aeion's commerce module supports metered billing — usage records aggregate per period, invoiced at period end. Common shape: base subscription + metered overage.

Aeion handles: contract value = $12K/yr; invoiced monthly $1K; deferred revenue recognition is monthly $1K (matches billing cadence).

Each product is a separate billing_item with its own revenue account. Expansion vs new-logo tracked by customer + product combination.

Aeion's CRM combines usage signals, health score, and payment status into a single churn-risk view. CSMs see the unified customer-360 picture. See /crm/use-cases/customer-success.

Aeion's flexibility supports any pricing model — flat-rate, per-seat, usage-based, hybrid. Configure in the commerce module; the finance ledger handles posting agnostically.

Once you're >$50M ARR + 5+ entities + audited by Big 4 + going public. Until then, Aeion covers SaaS finance natively. Migration path exists if you do outgrow it.
