Aeion Localization for Multilingual E-Commerce

E-commerce in 10 languages means 10x the content — every product description, every checkout step, every transactional email, in every supported locale. Aeion Localization auto-translates product catalogs on save via the event-driven subscriber, maintains brand-consistent glossaries for SKU terminology, and integrates with Aeion Commerce for per-locale checkout flow, currency, tax, and shipping. Three operating-model walkthroughs (D2C, marketplace, B2B) below.

FAQ

Depends on volume. 10K products × 6 fields × 9 languages = 540K translations. At 5 concurrent workers + ~3 sec per translation = 25-50 hours wall-clock. Faster with dedicated workers for high-volume tenants.

First-pass AI translation: ~$10-50 per 1K products per locale. Ongoing maintenance: $10-100/month per locale depending on update volume. TM cache reduces ongoing cost significantly.

Aeion translates content; per-locale keyword research is a separate marketing exercise. Tools like Ahrefs / Semrush per-locale keyword research → import into Aeion SEO module.

Aeion Commerce handles currency. Localization handles display format (€15.00 vs 15,00 €). Pricing strategy per region (not just conversion) is a separate business decision.

Product text translates correctly for Arabic and Hebrew. Layout mirroring for RTL storefronts (nav direction, product grid flow, form alignment) is CSS/UX work on your storefront theme — Aeion Localization doesn't auto-mirror layouts.

Aeion Search indexes whatever locale your product fields are stored in — search a locale, match that locale's text. There's no automatic cross-language query translation (a Spanish search won't surface English-only matches) today.

Aeion Discounts handles the discount logic (codes, rules, usage limits). If you want the promotional copy itself translated ("10% off" → "10% de descuento"), mark that copy field `localized` and it flows through the same auto-translate pipeline as any other content field.

Aeion Billing handles multi-currency subscriptions. Localization handles display. Tax compliance per region.

Checkout copy (labels, messages, error text) translates through the same field-level pipeline as the rest of your content. Region-specific address formats (zip vs postcode vs CEP) and validation rules are commerce/checkout configuration, not something Localization sets up for you.

Returns-flow copy translates like any other localized content field. Returns policy and refund-method logic per region are Aeion Fulfillment/Commerce configuration, not a Localization feature.

Adding a new locale: ~$1-5K (glossary tuning + translator review on key copy) + ongoing $50-200/mo. Very low marginal cost vs. tradition.
