Aeionica for Podcast Membership Networks
Independent podcasters and small networks give up 8-12% of membership revenue to Patreon and stitch together a separate host, membership tool, analytics dashboard, and payout spreadsheet. Aeionica runs the monetization side on one platform — member-gated premium episodes with real DRM, automatic co-host revenue splits via Stripe Connect, per-episode listener analytics, and a unified listener record — at 0% platform transaction fees. Keep 100% of what your members pay.
What Aeionica Does for a Membership Podcast
Aeionica treats every episode as media in the library — original and processed files, a preview clip, waveform, duration, and format. On top of that it layers the monetization primitives a paid podcast actually needs:
The Membership Math — 0% vs 8-12%
Aeionica charges a flat platform subscription and takes 0% of your membership or license revenue. The only third-party cost is payment processing (Stripe's ~2.9% + $0.30, which goes to Stripe, not to us) and any physical-fulfillment costs.
Listener Analytics Built for Retention
Download counts tell you almost nothing. Aeionica's analytics are built on per-play event capture, so you can answer the questions that actually grow a show:
Selling and Licensing Episodes
Beyond memberships, individual episodes (or back-catalog seasons) can be sold under the same 10-tier licensing matrix used for music, each tier with its own price, territory, and usage caps, and every purchase generating a legally-binding PDF contract from a per-tier template.
Onboarding an Existing Show
Aeionica ships a migration wizard that imports from Bandcamp, Patreon, and WordPress. For a membership podcast moving off Patreon, that means bringing over your subscriber list and tier definitions so you don't rebuild your membership from scratch. Standard audio formats (MP3 with ID3 tags, WAV, FLAC) and generic CSV/JSON import cover custom setups.
What Aeionica Is Not
Aeionica is direct-to-listener monetization infrastructure — it is not an RSS podcast host and not a DSP distributor. It does not generate an RSS feed for Apple Podcasts or Spotify, and it does not push episodes into those catalogs' ingestion pipelines. Most membership podcasters run both: a free feed on their existing host for discovery, and Aeionica for the paid, member-gated, leak-traceable premium experience where they keep 100% of revenue. If a capability like a print-fulfillment provider or an AI backend isn't connected, the dashboard reports that honestly rather than pretending a job ran.
FAQ
No. Aeionica is not an RSS host or a Spotify/Apple distributor — it doesn't generate a feed or push into those catalogs. It handles the paid side: member-gated premium episodes, subscription tiers, co-host splits, licensing, and analytics. Keep your free feed for discovery; use Aeionica for monetization where you keep 100%.
The collab splitter uses percentage-based splits paid through Stripe Connect's multi-party transfers. Each co-host onboards their own Stripe account once, and their share lands directly on every clearing sale or subscription — with 1099 reporting handled by Stripe. No end-of-month spreadsheet.
Protected. Premium streaming uses HLS AES-128 with a unique per-session key rotated during playback and a short-lived signed token to fetch it — the key is never embedded in the manifest. Access is checked against the member's subscription before a session is issued. On Enterprise, territorial (geo-IP) rules are checked before every key is handed out.
On the Enterprise tier, yes. Every download carries an inaudible per-buyer forensic fingerprint that survives MP3 compression and normal processing. Run a suspected leak through the extraction tool and you get back the member, tier, timestamp, and transaction — enough to back a cease & desist with evidence. Applying the watermark is available on lower tiers; the leak-trace investigation tool is an Enterprise capability.
Per-play events with completion %, seek behavior, device, and geography; per-listener LTV and engagement ranking; cohort retention at 1/3/6 months; and fan segments (mega/at-risk/dormant). The same listener record is shared across episodes, purchases, and support DMs via Aeion CRM.
The migration wizard imports Patreon subscriber lists and tier definitions, plus catalogs from Bandcamp and WordPress and standard audio/CSV formats. It brings the data over; your members complete Stripe checkout to re-establish billing on your own Stripe Connect account.
Free streaming is open. A paid or member-gated episode requires an account — partly because the buyer's identity is embedded in the forensic watermark. Magic-link email signup keeps that friction to about 15 seconds.
The Publicist agent (show notes, bios, social copy, press kit) is the most relevant; A&R sequencing helps order a season. The Audio Engineer/mastering tools are music-oriented and optional. Nothing auto-publishes — every AI output is reviewable, and unconfigured providers report honestly instead of faking output.
