Aeion Events + Zoom, Webex & Microsoft Teams
Two paths for virtual and hybrid event video, chosen per session. Path one is Aeion-native — Aeion Cut streaming for main-stage broadcasts and WebRTC for 1:1 meetings, with no third-party per-host license. Path two connects the platform your organization already runs on — Zoom, Webex, or Microsoft Teams — so rooms are provisioned, join links captured, recordings archived, and attendance tracked without leaving Aeion Events. Mix both across sessions in a single event.

How Provider Selection Works
Each provider is connected once per tenant through its own OAuth flow — Zoom via Server-to-Server OAuth, Webex via OAuth 2.0, Microsoft Teams via an Azure AD app with Graph permissions. Credentials are stored per tenant, so connecting Zoom for one organization never exposes it to another.

FAQ
Zoom paid plans run roughly $14.99–19.99/license/month; Webex is comparable. Those are the provider's own licensing costs, billed by them. The Aeion-native path (Aeion Cut streaming + WebRTC) carries no third-party per-host license — it uses Aeion's own streaming stack as part of your subscription.
Choose the third-party platform when your organization is already standardized on it — attendees know the client, IT has vetted it, and workflows depend on it (Webex for Cisco-native or FedRAMP/government contexts, Teams for Microsoft 365 shops). Choose Aeion-native when you want a bundled main-stage broadcast with multi-camera, graphics, and simulcast to YouTube/LinkedIn Live, or fully in-app 1:1 video, without adding a per-host license.
Zoom Webinar handles up to 50K participants, Webex Events up to 100K, and Aeion Cut is per-event customizable.
The recording is captured to the provider's cloud, and Aeion ingests the URL via webhook and stores the reference in Aeion Files. Default retention is 30 days, or per-tenant retention where configured.
Recording is opt-in per attendee, with an on-entry notification when a session is being recorded.
Transcription comes from the provider; Aeion adds subtitles and honors a per-attendee language preference. For live translation, Aeion offers AI translation, Zoom offers Interpretation, and Webex offers live translation.
Zoom allows up to 200 per room, Webex up to 100, and Aeion-native breakouts are configurable.
Each provider ships its own mobile app, and the Aeion Events mobile app integrates the join flow so attendees don't juggle links.
Roughly 2–3 Mbps for HD video, with adaptive bitrate on every platform to degrade gracefully on weaker connections.
Zoom Webinar has native Q&A, Webex has polls, and the Aeion-native path unifies Q&A and polls in the Events UI.
No — each provider's standard reporting is still available, but Aeion normalizes attendance and engagement signals into one unified analytics view across every provider used in the event.
