Aeion Production + Weather Services

Weather is the #1 schedule disruptor in production — rain ruins outdoor scenes, wind cancels drone shoots, snow strands crew. Aeion pulls forecasts from OpenWeather, AccuWeather, or NOAA per-location + per-day. Outdoor scenes are auto-flagged for weather risk; the forecast rides along on call sheets and daily production reports for insurance documentation.

Why Weather Matters

Weather Service Aggregation

For each shoot location, Aeion fetches a forecast — temperature, humidity, wind, precipitation chance, and conditions — from your configured provider (OpenWeatherMap by default; AccuWeather or NOAA are also supported).

Not as a built-in rule engine today — pull the forecast via API and apply your own threshold logic if you need custom triggers.

The forecast attached to a call sheet or daily production report persists with that document — useful for retrospective analysis ("Did we make right call on rescheduling?"). Aeion doesn't separately archive every ad-hoc forecast lookup.

Yes. Aeion's weather services cover most populated locations globally. Per-region sources used.

Not integrated today — AQI isn't part of the current weather service. Track it manually or via a separate air-quality source for now.

Not by default; can integrate via API.

Lower than rain (snow more variable). For winter mountain shoots, multi-source aggregation + on-the-ground reports.

Aeion retains the forecast attached to the call sheet or daily production report, which you can use as supporting documentation. The claims process itself is external.

Forecasts are fetched on demand and cached for 30 minutes; re-request for the latest data as shoot day approaches.

Aeion flags variance. Producer judgment call. Some shoots: use conservative source; others: aggregate.
